Ok Guys. I need some help on an Asus motherboard. There is so many to choose from and I do not no what one will work the best with the GTX280 and the Intel Q6600 or better
Also should I go with a board that supports DDR3 even if I run DDR2
give me a link to the board that will work with these options please.

I do not plan to run SLI at this time. But may do so down the road.
And if having a SLI board and running one card. Will drop the performance in FSX or gaming?
I want to run windows vista 64 bit. If it works out for me. If not I will go back to xp pro 32 bit
Or 64 bit.

Thanks

do NOT buy the hybrid DDR2/DDR3 boards

Here are your choices

DDR3 Motherboards

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131276

DDR2 Motherboards

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131219

The memory for DDR3 1600  (any proc)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146777

or

DDR3 1800  (needed to max clock a E8600 or a Q9650 processor to 4GHz+)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145206

and for DDR2 1066  (any proc)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145197

Those will serve you very well and allow all the processor/video card upgrades and clocking you may wish to do

Does it matter on the motherboard chipset if it’s Intel or NVIDIA when running a GTX260 or 280? Or even an ATI card on this motherboard?
