I've been looking at the SRTM terrain mesh for FS9 here at the V and wondered if anybody had this installed and what their opinions of it are.
It's a whole lot to download and install based on blind faith, so any feedback would be appreciated. Smiley

While I have not downloaded these specific mesh packages, I would suggest that you just try out a small area, and see how you like it.

I have rarely had issues with mesh installations, but keep in mind that there is a risk that some airports may appear to be placed on a plateau, due to mismatched elevation data on the airport's AFCAD.

Overall though, I would say that you really can't go wrong with mesh addons, and they are easy to uninstall anyway.

I've downloaded and installed the mesh for the entire North American continent, and frankly, I can take it or leave it. For the most part, it does add a great deal of detail to mountain ranges and such, but as SeanTK mentioned, the problem of airports being in deep valleys or on plateaus can detract from the overall experience.

I would suggest you download the coverage map, and then download the mesh for Hawaii, and see what you think.
