My computer was on today, and the power went out do to high winds, and when I try to reboot it I get the message "Can not start Windows the file "Windows/system32/config/system is corrupt or missing, please insert the Windows Install disc and press 'r' at the first screen." So I do all that, my question then becomes now what? I get a MS-DOS screen with like a million options, what should I do to repair the file, because a wipe of the hard drive and reinstalling Windows is not an option as there are files on there that I can't afford to lose... 

Now when I try to restart in Safe mode I get this error lass.exe "The specified password does not match the one in the password blank." I don't even know what the error message truly says because it flashes on the screen for a second before Windows restarts, so I don't get time to read it.
