Understood. Well, I wasted some $$ anyway - must be because it's getting close to Christmas and I needed another present. Ordered the Extreme - newegg will refund the Formula.

Have a ? in to the tech at Mushkin about which product - I *think* there's only one but......

Also noticed in that Rampage Extreme thread that he's using the white ram slots. Is that important?

And please, anyone reading this thread - If I start making noises about upgrading anything within the next two months - please tell me to go home an take a cold shower!  Smiley

Actually, it's better than leaving it in the stock market.  Wink

Thanx

I have the Creative XFi xtreme gamer sound card and it works perfectly.  You shouldn't have problems with a product you just bought but it could be just the card and not the board.  I don't think that asus card is as good as the XFi, you might try that.

Glad to see a fellow rampager!

Hi Jim -

Love the board but the sound issue bothers me. Anyhow, I decided to RMA it and go with the Rampage Extreme - just a few $$ more. Now, if I have a problem with THAT sound card.....Smiley

Looking forward to getting it set up altho swapping mobo's has never been one of my favorite chores. Think I'd get used to it after all that I've done through the years but it's still a PITA.

I have a XiFi card too - tried running both and it did not work well - something was conflicting but I couldn't track it down. After that I tried running the stock card with the front panel connections - that had problems as well - could get no volume from the mic.

We'll see how the new mobo goes next week.

Im not on the Rampage anymore.. cant remember which slots are the high speed.. I though it was the blue ones. Look it up and see if the motherboard manual specifies

as for the stock market.. I pulled out 2 months ago and transfered to CD (yea sue me... I had insider information    Kiss )  and now I am getting ready to reinvest at very low 'in' the back door stock prices
