Thats called the Vickers V-1000; a 787 minus podded engines.

I gotta add the B-58 Hustler to my list, and not just for it's name.

I love the looks of the Dassault Rafale M. Especially in it's prototype black paint.
Oh, and the Aermacchi M-346 looks pretty cool too...

Well, whoever voted for the Russian planes I have to disagree. Those are the ugliest warbirds ever IMO. My vote goes for the P-51D. Nothing beats those lines then and now. Also a big fan of the F-5E/F...love that long swoopy nose. The F-22, F18, F-16 and of course the F-14 are all beautiful aircraft. As are the Gripen, Rafale and Typhoon (something so very sexy and cool about those canards).

(planes before the Mig-25, I agree, all planes after, I must protest.

That's why I like the Russian birds, all curvy and swoopy, and don't forget the canards on the more recent 'prettier' planes from our Russian companions.
American planes look like they were built to beat the air into submission, the (modern) Russian birds, and the latter EU planes you mentioned, all look as though they are intended to work with the air, and slip through without disturbing it. Very graceful.

You guys
have
seen an F-86, right? And what about the P-38?
And no gliders? Come on... ever seen a Bowlus BA-100?
It's a timeless discussion, and pretty silly to me- if it has wings, it makes my heart beat faster.
But there are quite a few airplanes designed between, say, 1930 and 1960 that I think are works of art. They all happen to "fly as good as they look", too.
A few more I haven't seen mentioned here:
DC-3
MiG-15
P-80
As for whirlybirds: gosh, they sure are ugly, but a well-kept H-500 or Dauphin can be lovely to look at.

This almost has to be broken down into "types".. Like; GENERAL AVIATION / TRANSPORT / MILITARY
From there:
Cessna 310.. Nothing quite like it
DC-8.. It looks like it hates being on the ground
B-52.. If you've ever seen on takeoff, you'd agree
