I think I might need a second opinion ... I've got quite a soft spot for the Hawker Hurricane as well.
Some people seem to forget the Hurricane and just focus on the Spitfire but there were more Hurricanes than Spits in the Battle of Britain and they shot down more planes. Plus it's just a beautiful plane. Gotta love it!

It' toss up between the P-51D and F/A-18E.
Althought I prefer modern fighters, the P-51D is the best looking plane ever made.

It's not the biggest, fastest, most powerful, most beautiful, or the most comfortable, but for some reason, my favorite is the Dash-8.
