Wow, I can't believe everyones missed the true winner here...
...The Spitfire of course!!
The real question , which of course needs not be explained, is "What is the most beautiful plane (not counting the Spitfire)?"
The Spitfire, any Spitfire, wins hands down. That goes without saying. My second choice would have to be Concorde. The most graceful airliner ever built. So beautiful it took your breath away to see it.

I just saw a BBC news report with a Concorde on a barge sailing into New York harbor, heading to a museum. Seems kind of disgraceful to ship her that way!

No contest here, because the most beautiful aircraft ever has got to be the Lockheed Constellation.
... and this from a fellow withi a Spitfire in his sig.... are we supposed to believe you?
Didn't even realise that, how ironic.

Personaly, and this is aimed at all those yoghurt knitters who didnt want the 'SST' landing and taking off in the US at the time - i find this a disgrace - they didnt want it coming in and out of there airport when it was first put into service, but they are happy to receive one for there musuem. The anti concorde brigade did nothing for the success of this fantastic aircraft, even though it was proved to be less noisy then some other types at the time.
I suspect, had the Boeing SST come to fruition, there would have been no problem with it landing and taking off from Heathrow......
Anyway, i digress - my favorites in the beauty stakes include the VC-10, Concorde, the Vulcan, and the 747.

I don't know why, I just really like the CL-604.
Can I revise? I'd take that paint job on a CL-605:

Check out some of the interior photos of this thing. I want one. I need to come up with my get rich quick scheme so I can get it. You guys got any idedas?
The CL-300 is nice too.

Good evening all...
I would have to say the "Amphibious DeHavilland of Canada DHC-3 single radial engine Otter".
Since I can't afford to operate one I would say "the one that is paid for".
