Hello all,

If you have an AMD CPU I recommend that you take a look at Fusion:
http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_fusion.aspx?p=1

The application is designed for gamers.  It turns off selected processes that constantly run in the background of Vista and suck up valuable resources.  Of course anyone can turn off the same processes if they don't want them to run, but Fusion allows you to optimize your system with a click of a button and then return everything to normal when you are done flying.  I like this option because I really don't know what most of the processes actually do, and I'm wary of shutting something off that I might need later.

I gained 3 -4 fps with the application running.  Fusion is in beta, and works for both 32 and 64 bit Vista.

What do you think?

Milo

Downloading now. ABOUT TIME they made something like this. AMD really needs to step it up or my next processor is going to be intel Grin

EDIT: Ok, downloaded it but which processes control my (trend micro) internet security and my internet connection? Those two I want to keep running but other than that it deletes over a third of my processes Cheesy

I tried all three of the built-in settings, but I didn't notice if any one of the three shut down my internet connection or security.  I hope it wouldn't, but I will check.  As you probably know, if you figure out what you want to keep you can make your own list.

I think the expert setting actually shut off about half of my 70 processes running.

EDIT: I just looked and it didn't touch explorer.  Sorry I can't help you with any detailed information about your question.

After it runs I manually open my security and connections again and it is all good. Wink
