It will beat your current card but will perform like a good laptop. 8400, not really for gaming, 8500 not really either, 8600 some gaming, 8800gt hardcore or not hardcore great card, 8800GTX and ULTRA HARDCOOORE.

Hi Alrot,
The 8400 isn't a good card for FSX, and it certainly is not a good enough card to base a new mainboard/system around.
When you buy a new motherboard, you'll almost certainly need new ram and a new cpu, so you are basicly building a whole new system.
A much cheaper option would be to get a high end AGP card for the existing rig but it still won't run FSX well like a whole new core system and a good video card will.
That 8400 may have it's uses, but not as the basis for an FSX machine.
Mainboard: Asus P5K-Premium, CPU=Intel E6850 @ x8x450fsb 3.6ghz, RAM: 4gb PC8500 Team Dark, Video: NV8800GT, HDD: 2x1Tb Samsung F3 RAID-0 + 1Tb F3, PSU: Antec 550 Basiq, OS: Win7x64, Display: 24" WS LCD

its a slow card Alex but it may be better than what you are using.. all you can do is try it and see how it does for you in compare to your old card
