What a horrendous surprise.

Not.

F1 is fast losing any remaining sporting content. I feel for Massa if he ends up world champion this year, as it will be tainted for years if he wins by less than 3 points, and it was no fault of his own.

What a load of bull...

.... How come you can't appeal against a drive through penalty?

Surely this gives stewards a free reign to hand out drive through penalties without fear of having to justify the decision.

You can't appeal a drive through penalty as it has to be taken in the race.  Once it's done ... it's done.  If you could appeal, then drivers would take their chances and not take them and drive through penalties would become a thing of the past.

Hamilton's penalty wasn't a drive through ... allegedly it was in lieu of a drive through, was awarded some three hours after the race and therefore should have been heard.

Even so .. did anyone really think that the Ferrari is Innocent Association were going to uphold the appeal?

Posted on another forum - made me laugh Smiley

Not quite good enough at driving?
Are the other boys faster than you in the wet?

Then you need: Ferrari International Assistance (FIA)

This exclusive Ferrari only membership club has many benefits. Including:

- Anti overtaking assurance
Been overtaken? Feel a bit silly? Don't worry, we'll rule out the other party, even if it's embarrassingly obvious that they're faster than you

- Exclusive access to a secret 'second lane' in the pits Just to make things a little bit easier we've arranged a private second lane , just for you.

- Guaranteed world championship?
Had a crash? Need to win the world championship? Don't worry just limp across the track and take off your nearest championship title contender - we'll do the rest

-A bit strapped? Need extra cash?
Simply get one of your team to tell someone else how you make your cars.

- Bits falling off your car? Looking a bit dangerous?
At Ferrari International Assistance we operate a 'blind eye' policy just for Ferrari drivers

- Been a bit silly? Taken off another driver whilst following the safety car?
It's ok, as long as you didn't hurt yourself. I mean, who are Force India anyway? And how dare they be in front of you.

-A bit bored? Want some extra action?
With FIA plus you can take part in a number of additional membership activities.

- Not sure when you might need us next?
Relax. Check out our track record. We're confident that we'll be able to make something up on the spot that will get you out of any pickle that you might find yourself in

Ferrari International Assistance
Making it up as we go along for over 100 years

Celtman Cool

Edit: And this Grin

Following unfortunate misunderstandings in the Grands Prix at Valencia and Spa, the FIA has revised the Red Car Rule for Formula 1. These amendments will be applied with immediate effect:

1) Overtaking a Ferrari is not permitted under any circumstances.

2) In the pit lane, a Ferrari always has precedence over other cars.

3) Any driver finishing less than 25 seconds ahead of a Ferrari will be penalized 25 seconds.*

4) If neither Ferrari finishes in first place, the stewards reserve the right to declare the result null and void (or to adjust it as necessary).

5) Only Ferrari drivers are permitted to use anything other than ‘designated’ parts of a circuit.

6) If forced off the ‘designated’ part of the track by a Ferrari, the guilty driver should immediately crash his car and return to the pits

6) Any driver or team appealing against any FIA decision in favour of Ferrari may be subject to a fine and/or the deduction of points.
*Subject to post-race adjustment by the stewards.

Just shows that they couldn't face having to adjudge the actual matter in question. One has to say the panel has rather taken the easy way out in saying the appeal was not admissable.

Another sad day for F1. No surprise considering it was a team very familiar with visits FIA HQ?

What a load of rubbish. I still dont get the bit where they cant decide if the appeal is allowed to go ahead, so then hear the appeal anyway, then decide there can be no appeal Roll Eyes

And im fed up of all the 'slipstreaming' nonense over on autosport forums, and the 'dirty driving' that constantly spouts forth from the same forums. Angry

Go Hamilton i say, i hope this makes him even more determined than he already was to win the wdc this season. Im behind him 110%.

However, i wonder what else will 'occour' over the next few races....

Rumour has it that Mclaren have stopped all deveopment of the 2009 car.

They will now use a much smaller budget to paint Lewis white during race weekends - sources say that this should be enough to win the championship next year.

Ignoring the clearly unfair bashing of Ferrari (remember they were happy for Lewis to keep his points, they saw it as racing Wink)

Have the FIA, F1 FOM or whomever shots themselves in the foot with all these modern tracks? And by giving exsisting tracks tarmac runoffs. They assured fans that it would be better, they assured us that cars wouldn't use them for advantage. Yet numerous times in the past few years we've seen the opposite. Is it time they start bringing back the gravel traps. We've seen these runoff areas dont actually slow cars down any better than gravel traps, and the excuse that at least the car wont roll over, is rubbish as its a very rare occurance. I dont think the walls should be moved closer that is dangerous, but I do think a few more gravel traps in braking areas and acceleration area's like the new bus stop, will prevent any chance of this happening again.

No one's bashing Ferrari. We're bashing the FIAT, sorry, FIA...

As I said, Ferrari are the ones who are most likely to have to deal with the cynicism and stigma off the unwashed masses (like us) should they win the drivers championship by a narrow margin from LH.
