Having issues, need to edit a texture but........ (Read 360 times)

I can't seem to open the BMP file.  Basically I was looking for an AI Aardvark 747-400 in standard Singapore livery.  The only one I found is out dated by a few years but to match the rest of the fleet just needs a couple quick touch ups to remove the engine logos and then the "MEGATOP" on the upper deck.

But for the life of me I can not figure out how to open up the BMP file to do this.  Using Photoshop 7.  So how can I get it opened up for editing?

I think the tutorial will get me back to FS format but there was nothing I could find as to how you actually open up a file that's already been converted. Undecided

try DXT.bmp? You can open it in this then from there send it to PS.

Might work?

Thanks much.  That seemed to work, only thing now is to get around to programing in the routes to make sure I converted it back right.  Turned outdated into more recent in about 5 minutes Tongue

You can temporarily convert the aircraft to Player flyable to check those textures. Then convert it back again.

If this is FS9 get AirEd from the utilities section. Use it to open the AIR file & change the Aircraft Type from 2 to 0. You might also need to paste in a panel folder from a flyable aircraft.

It worked.  Doesn't take long to program the routes in, did 20 in a matter of 15 minutes.  Takes longer to get all the times and routes in order on paper then it does to actually put them in.  Figured if I couldn't get it then the outdated texture would just have to do for now, but problem solved, can't tell they were edited.

Thanks for the help, that would have been driving me crazy having all the routes in and ONE aircraft type using an older livery Tongue
