It's true that GRID is much more fun.
But as for realism, GT5 will always win.

The whole GT series has been unparalleled since they hit the market!
The only thing that even comes close would be Forza.

Bought a PS3 today (got fed up having a 42" TV with no HD inputs!).
All I can say is wow. GT5P looks great, and I may well go and liberate my local games retail outlet of GRID tomorrow. And CoD4...

Welcome to the PS3 world Charlie... Make sure you get a few Blu-ray movies to realise the potential of your TV
Is it 1080 or 720 resolution?

1080p. Only got it a few weeks ago after the death of our 18mth old 32".
Bought Grid and CoD4 today. Never done a trade in with games before, but took in a Wii game, and some old PS2's I hadn't used in years, and got £26 off at GAME.

That's not very good, 18 months is a very short life span for a TV.. did you take it up with the manufacturer? I'd be fuming...
I'd recommend F1CE too, although it's a bit dated now.. but the graphics are superb! Very few PS3 games run at 1080p, most of them are 720p (my TV's resolution) so look at the back of the case before buying
How's Ferrari Challenge Craig? Does it live up to the hype?

graphics arnt great.
handling the best I've ever experienced.
A.I. very good, but at times a little too annoying. They defend the inside line of corners, they'll move about to break the slipstream, but they'll also at high speed block you causing an accident at times.
For me I love it, for others the fact its limited to ferrari might get a little tiresome after a while. But i'd definitly recommend it.

Evesham - since gone bust and taken over my new owners. Not a hope, particularly as it was only a 12 month warranty.

I noticed that today when looking at the Olympics game, which is 720p (as is GRID too) and a few others. I was more than happy to see that CoD4 was 1080p. Hoping SBK, CoD(5) are too. Then I'll just be waiting for the Blu-ray release of Band of Brothers in November!

GRID is loads of FUN FUN FUN! Like it was meant to be... similar to NFS and MC. The entire GT Franchise has (and possibly will always be) the best racing SIMULATOR ever... hands, feet... and face... down.
The best thing about GRID though is the Drift GP. I became obsessed with that discipline and is the only thing I wish GT could adopt (heard there'll be such a mode) and make as fun. (Dude getting 2.9 million points was heart pounding on the GRID demo!)
GRID's racing scheme? Come on... don't make me laugh... I don't know if it was just the demo, but it's as arcade-ish as a bad-cross between NFS: Porsche Unleashed and Midnight Club: Dub Edition.
Don't get me wrong though... still an addictive game, all around... GT's just in a whole other multi-verse.

There is a Drift option in GT5 Prologue, it's something that A: I can't get the hang of, and B: Doesn't interest me at all.
Anyway GT5 is all about speed and lap times... and you'll never go faster sliding around all over the place

So its still a matter of lap time in Prologue as opposed to style points in GRID and others?... Ahh... point... there goes all the fun, drifting's essential ingredient.
