Hi all. I have been venturing into creating photo scenery for FS9 and do not know much, but after much reading online and trying different tutorials and programs, I'm stuck and need help. This is what I've done so far.

I have obtained a 1600x1200 Google Earth photo of Roseau, Dominica using this website: http://www.ptsim.com/sbuilder/gmaps.htm (quite useful).

After inserting the photo into SBuilder and calibrating the map using the co-ordinates provided I proceeded to select the required phototiles (just one for now) to compile into scenery. SBuilder can compile both VTP and High. Res. Photo Scenery (I've tried both), but after following step by step this little tutorial
http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7863&highlight=make+photo+scen...
and inserting my compiled scenery into the FS9 scenery library, nothing shows up at the specified coordinates.

Does anyone have any experience with SBuilder? I would apprecaite some guidance. If not, I would also appreciate some guidance with any other tool to use my maps to build photo scenery. Thanks in advance.

I have also managed to get the photo into the Photo Scenery Maker program, but after compiling, still nothing shows up in FS.

Please, any help would really be appreciated.

Bumping this topic again in hopes of any help. There seems to be some sort of secrecy over creating photoreal sceneries. Is there some conspiracy to keep these things to some of the professionals who charge for good photo-sceneries? Grin

It's been a month and a half and no one at FSdeveloper nor here has been able to respond.

Thanks Scruffy. Luis was quite helpful over there. Managed to create photoscenery for over 750 sq miles. Just need to learn how to create sum proper coastlines and rivers and add some autogen and buildings atop my photoscenery.

I'd recommend that site and Sbuilder to anyone looking to venture into photoscenery.

Thanks Alexander. I went through the tutorial but noticed that it is for SbuilderX and FSX. I am using Sbuilder 2.96(?) for FS2004. Any tutorials for this?
Thanks again.
