Just thought I would show everyone how I converted an old magneto to interface with my keyboard encoder card.  Once I removed the back, I made an aluminum bracket to hold two microswitches and a rocker switch.  Then I added a lever arm to the back of the mag switch shaft.  As the lever moves either direction through the mag switch detents, it actuates a switch to send an increment or decrement signal to the encoder.  Hooked it up and tested it tonight.  Works great!
