We return to Hockenheim this year.
Can Lewis Make it two in a row, or will the Ferrari's fight back on what was for many years, like their home away from home, track. Can Mercedes take back home advantage? Perhaps BMW might want to start a new German era.

Entries close Saturday july 19th 12:00 BST.
Rob will have results from Britain up ASAP.

Michael is there all weekend. I'm predicting he'll take out kimi's knee's, put on a blonde wig and hop in the car using his helmet. Win the gp, be awarded the drivers title for his cunning and fire Luca DM. All before the race has even started. Lips Sealed Grin

Gonna go:
Kimi
Lewis

Every time I pick Lewis for a win, he blows it! Still, if he’s going to win the title he needs to start winning back-to-back races or at least getting on the podium. With that in mind I’m going:

Hamilton
Raikkonnen
Kubica

It could be Massa or Kubica for third but I still believe that Kimi will end up top dog in the red car driver’s standings come the end of the season. Of course, my predictions have been so far out recently that it will not surprise me in the slightest if all the top drivers fall off the track and Force India take a one, two! Grin

Interesting bit from Fred...

Quote:
Q: Are there requirements you expect Renault to meet if you are going to stay there?

FA: No… Obviously every race will be important. If we keep improving as we are doing now, then it’s clear that maybe next year Renault can have a good car.

And maybe some teams will grow very quickly during the summer and finish the year very strong, [in which case] they may be a good team for next year.

So every race is important for the decision.

To me that sounds like a possible nod towards Honda, perhaps giving further credence to the long term contract rumor.
Personally if I were Renault i'd be looking at Alonso as a gonner next season and put more effort into Piquet Jr. He's nailed two very nice passes on Alonso in the last two races, and is starting, much like Kovi did last year, to show some of the talent he is supposed to have.

This years title fight is really close.  I much prefer watching Ferrari work so much harder to be competitive than them running away with it.

Well I'm officially running out of patience with Massa.
I can accept the fact he's going to have silverstone like races, but to just not bother like today is pathetic.
And I hope people are taking note of all these times Kovi is moving out of the way for lewis. Nice to see when they do it, its considered good common sense, when schumi and co did it, it was considered evil and handing him wins. Roll Eyes
ITV breaks are beyond ridiculous now.
Good drive by Lewis cant fault it regardless of what happend.
Piquet, brilliant. Luck came into it, but he was turning quick laps to go with it.

And ITV cut the press conference again. Just to waffle on about their undying love for Lewis. 8 minutes to go till next scheduled program. Idiots.

Then no more ad breaks, no more stupid  music, no more annoying allen. And if Martin keeps making mistakes like he did today, no more him either.

A good race. The problem with Schumy being let by, was that it was never subtle, involved people running back and forth whispering in ears and phone calls from the Ferrari top brass, also generally when Ruben's was on for a win. Not his fault, just the presentation. Whilst I do not defend todays race, Hamilton was significantly faster than his team mate and would have probably have got by in the end making a second place and not a first due to the amount of laps left to catch Piquet. Still, I get 15 points, so I am happy Grin

I think you should wait and reserve judgment on the stupid commentary. Right now, the only think I am looking forward to is no adverts. The BBC can drop the ball a easily as ITV.

To be fair, Heikki and Ron wern't exactly being subtle. Camera's catch him with his finger on the button to Kovi, then suddenly lewis goes by at the next corner.
I dont really care end of the day, I dont see any point in these rules against team orders, more money is lost through teams fighting each other than it is just letting one guy through. I just find it ironic that the ITV guys were making it sound like a brilliant plan, yet constantly slate ferrari if they do it.

The BBC just need to sign Brundle and Edwards for race commentary and I think they'd be set. As for pre-race who knows.

Makes a change, I'm usually getting 5's or 10's! (don't even think I got 20 last year!)

Good race though, very good drive from Piquet to get to 2nd! Smiley

I wonder when in the season he's going to tell the FIA that Renault are using someone else's technical details and that he's been giving those details to them? ...... Probably when Renault realise that he's not producing the goods and start favouring Piquet who is doing a better job.

A good race overall ..... saved from being a procession by McLaren's decision not to pit Lewis under the safety car. I hope the rest of the season is as interesting and unpredictable as the first half has been.

ROLL ON THE BBC!!!

Oh no.
Quote:
The engine of car number 22 is kept sealed in order to carry out further checks according to Article 5 of the 2008 FIA Formula One Technical Regulations. These checks will be done before the Hungarian GP.

God I hope this is just a standard random check.
The last thing we need now is Mclaren fan boys whining that the FIA are favouring Ferrari, if they do find something.
Seems to me though the FIA do have a tendancy to find a team and pick on it for a few years. Ferrari have had it. Honda had it, Williams have had it. Now Mclaren seem to be their target. Roll Eyes

Quote:
WHOA, HOLD THE PHONE!  You're talking about Ferrari being hosed by penalties?

Not at all. Like I said, for years journalists and fans have always complained about the fact that ferrari would do the whole swapping drivers things. With the exception of the ridiculous stunt at Austria, which was clearly not a race for Michael to win (theres audio of JT telling Rubens to pull over aswell on youtube) Roll Eyes
And that silly, lets do an Indy style photo finish, at the USGP which backfired, Ferrari to my recollection, never anything worse than what Mclaren have done with Heikki and Lewis the past few races. This is why I think the rule should be scrapped all together.
What I dont like is the fact that. James "I take a bullet for lewis" Allen, and even Ted Kravitz were all over what a smart and well executed plan it was to switch them round, after crucifying Ferrari for doing it in the past.. It's just further proof that they really are up their own backsides, or perhaps Mclarens.
To be fair, Allen yesterday wasn't that bad, he had his moments, alongside Ted where they were calling for Mclarens heads to roll for the pit strategy, and constantly hammering on about them throwing away a race win for Lewis. Only for them to be singing their praises 10 to 15 minutes later. But in general, I was shocked by how poor Brundle was. I know he's now on his extended summer break, and we will likely have Davidson again for the Hungarian Gp, but he could have at least tried.

A question I've always wanted to ask..why does Brundle miss every Hungarian GP? Has he done something we don't now about and cannot enter the country? Or is it something more innocent..

Legend has it that that Brundle once bored somebody to death in Hungary.......

...... that's why he can't go back, it's virtually manslaughter over there.

While I'm sure he like everyone else despises the Hungarian Gp, I love the track, hate the races though.
I think mainly he has the break to sort out his driver contracts. Its this time of year that lower fomulas and other racing series start to firm up driver line ups for next year, and since he's got quite a few drivers under contract I'd imagine he's dealing with those.
