OK, got it installed in FSX - did nothing but download several packages and the installer. Ran the installer and all *seems* fine. But after continuing to read posts in this forum I have a few more questions.

First - I don't care for a LOT of AI - being #3 to depart is not really my idea of fun so I don't really care what gets "disabled" and what doesn't.

Should I want to uninstall some AI packages - just delete them from the folder or is there an uninstall routine - couldn't see anything in add/remove programs.

Read in a post that the FS9 bgl files should be converted. What happens if I don't convert them and how do I know which ones are for FS9?

The posts mention that using FS9 bgl files in FSX will disable the FSX AI - which is just fine with me, in fact I would prefer to only use WOAI.

The AI packs I downloaded were all marked for FS9 AND FSX.

Hope this makes sense

OK - seems I found a partial answer - if I do NOT recompile the FS9 bgl files I will lose all the FSX default AI - which is OK. Still wondering - how to tell if bgl is FS9.

And how to uninstall packages.

**The packages are marked for FS9 and FSX as they will work in either, but to my knowledge, the traffic*.bgl files are all in FS9 format.

**After you decompile (with AIFPC)  look at the 'flightplans*.txt' file. If it is an FSX file, you'll see a comment '//FSXDAYS=TRUE' at the top. If no message it's in FS9 format.

**If you want to uninstall, start the WoAI installer, click on 'Expert', and you'll see an option to 'delete airline'. This will delete the 'traffic*bgl' file and the appropriate aircraft liveries, but will leave the aircraft model and necessary liveries for other packages that still need it.

Or you can manually delete the 'traffic*.bgl' file, and undesired aircraft.

If you simply want to disable some schedules, open ...\<FSX>\Scenery\World\scenery\ and disable the desired 'traffic*.bgl' file(s) by changing the extension. Example: change 'traffic_woa_united_su07.
bgl
' to 'traffic_woa_united_su07.
bbb
' and FSX will ignore it.

Aha!  Thanx Dave, now it's beginning to make sense!

Let me throw you a curveball -

Due to a misunderstanding of the install process, I ran the WOAI installer and installed the packages into the SimObjects/Airplanes folder. I did not want it there. I then created a SimObjects/AI folder and moved all the AI folders there. Then wondering about registry entries, I reran the installer and reinstalled all the packages to the AI folder. No error messages and everything seems to be working.

Should I leave well enough alone or uninstall all the pkgs and reinstall?

From what you said above, it appears that it will be just fine.

Thanx,

Vic

As long as they're are flying their schedules, and you're happy with where they're at, you can just leave them as is.

Has anybody had any problems with some of their WOAI packages not showing up?  I think I'm having that problem with mine, and I think its because alot of the airlines are using the same aircraft in the same folder and the textures are there, but there's nothing in the config file for the textures.  Its like all the packages have there own aircraft, even though some of them created by the same people with the same folder name.  On the install, it kept asking me if I wanted to merge the folders.  Should I have done that or was that a bad move?  Any insight would be helpful.  Thanks
