I made a dual screen setup today (primarily for the F1 so I can stream it from ITV on one screen and do work on the other)

Had an hour and a half to waste, so I did some flying on FSX.

Not perfectly stable on my fairly midrange computer, but it was great fun in my 787.

...

Really quite interesting to fly on. Okay the set-up isnt perfect with the wonky pillar and all that, but it added a bit more to the game. I can now actually see the landing gear and flap gauge properly. Makes things a lot, well not easier or trickier, but different.

Really want to develop it into a real pit one day, when I get a job. But after today I will probably be back to a single screen. The black one on the right is my X360 one... A nice £110 Acer P19W with 2000:1 contrast and my other screen with speakers is a £120 something or other with like 750:1.

Just thought I would share todays events  Wink

Cheers

I run dual screens as well, One screen is FSX, the other is for a navigational window (either the GPS exapanded to full screen or the G1000 nav display, depending on what i fly). Cool

Yeh I was thinking about running nav or gauges on one screen and the main view on the other... shall have to see.

I am probably going to go on in a minute (install WideFS aswell) and see if I can get the cockpit right over both screens.

the only thing i hate about dual screens is the two images. i wish you could have one massive wide image instead of two separated images.

(two runways for example) why not one big runway in the middle and an entire panel spanning from one side to the other? Undecided

Im using dualhead2go and it spans nicely across both monitors. Now Im building a cockpit and those monitors are only used for an external view but I would think in your case if you got a copy of FsPanel Studio you could build a panel that would span across both monitors properly.

I think that would even work if you are using dual outputs on your video card although performance takes a big hit Tongue

Looks like your on the road to cockpit building madness.

You can have just one large image if you want, I have mine setup as 3360 x 1050 on two 22" monitors.

Just stretch the desktop to both monitors in the Windows control panel, then in FS change the display size to the combined monitors size e.g. 2 x 1680 x 1050 = 3360 x 1050.

Hmm, I could try that, nemesis. Well, if my graphics card goes up to 2880x900

Ritter... well if you get them right, it looks quite good. If I were to get any monitor for a simpit it would probably be one of those Alienware (I think its Alienware) or similar wrap-around monitors which is something like the size of 2 widescreen monitors seamlessly joined into one huge and bend around monitor.

Masternerd... yeh my performance is hit a bit. If I go to the desktop then back onto the game it causes crashes and the settings need to be at about 50% for most things. Detail is still on high, but lower terrain details and things. That road is also where I want to be  Smiley
