Hi all,

I downloaded various aircrafts from posky and ifdg. They worked fine, but now, i have this problem (not sure textures or scenery), the aircraft have missing painting, for example, u can see the tail colour but the rest of the airplane is gray (like a paintkit), different aircraft have different parts of the body with missed painting......in an attempt to solve the problem, i un-installed and then re-installed FS2004 but the problem still exists, i even downloaded more aircrafts, its mainly the ones from iFDG and POSKY with the problem....i only have 1 or 2 aircrafts and the original ones that come with the game that dont have the problem! what shall i do?

It's possible that your download was kept small in size by having the texture files abreviated.  In other words, let's say there are three texture folders.  Inside, there may be several individual BMP's we will call them "fusalage", "wings", and "tail".  Assuming that the wings and fusalage are the same paint pattern, and the tail has different "tail numbers", the download textures for two of the texture files would only have the "tail" BMP.  This makes the download package smaller, and less time to download.

The solution is to look at the texture that works and compare it to one that doesn't.  If I'm guessing right, you should simply be able to copy the missing BMP's from the one that does work to the ones that do not.

But I'm just guessing. Smiley

Of course, it could be a display issue. Have you changed anything like your video card driver or display settings recently? Not sure about IFDG but some Posky models are reputedly very graphics intensive.

What OS are you using?  You should be able to check the status of your system.  You may have a hardware memory problems, like a SIM gone bad.

We have to be missing something here.

System restore can mess all kinds of things up. Had you restored your pc to a date prior to a DirectX update maybe? This sounds more and more like a system (OS) problem rather than a sim or download problem.

What DirectX version does your machine say it has installed?

Specs: Asus Crosshair nForce 590 SLI,
AMD Athlon X2 6400+ w/ZeroTherm BTF90,
4GB G.Skill PI Series DDR2-800,
Sapphire HD4870 512MB,
PC P&C 750 Quad, in a CoolerMaster HAF932
