LOL! Im glad everyone can see where i was coming from with that post.
I think James Allen (and ITV) has a lot to answer for - it seems he is turning a lot of people off Hamilton, and its just not on! Fine i can understand him wanting him to do well and supporting him..its just that in his position he should be somewhat nuetral and keep his love fest for himself - go home and watch the race on DVD or somthing and squeal and shout and rub himself in strange ways there, at home, not in the commentary box!
Note that they also extended the coverage - had anyone else won, we would have been left with the usual 'bit' of the press conference..
Not sure if this applies to national broadcasters in other countries but BBC & ITV sports presenters have always been heavily biased towards British contenders. Not really surprising as Britain has very few world class sports people these days. In some 'sports' like international football you could be forgiven for thinking that there is only one team on the field. Even dear old Murray Walker had a thing about Mansell & Damon Hill.
Unfortunately the British media builds these people up until they start believing it themselves. Then when they fail to deliver the goods the same reporters take great delight in knocking them down again. I've watched this happening time & time again. I no longer follow F1 but despite all their money I feel very sorry for people like young Lewis Hamilton. It's not his fault.
