No political discussion - I know... but that's not the point. Pretty cool footage...
I thought these rockets were smokeless

Saw this on the TV yesterday. Pretty cool footage, and im sure on the TV once its been hit the screen had some text on it that said 'Master caution' or somthing like that.
It would have been more fun if it had been the 'windows blue screen of death' that you get when theres been a 'fatal exception' or error!

Given the close range.... it didnt even burn the whole fuel load, thats why it still has a condensation trail

All I will say, is that something seems wrong here.
I feel like this...fake.
Notice how the "MiG-29" flies into view JUST as the UAV pans to watch it? And the smoke trail seems to start on its wings.

No, I'm pretty sure it's real. There are accusations all over the news websites between russia and georgia. It's funny because Russia has denied it! Ahahah, I think the video says otherwise.
But I doubt it's fake because the wake effects on the missiles smoke seem VERY real.... and the missile was shot from the aircrafts wings.

I just think there is something strange about it - the UAV pans its camera JUST in time to watch the MiG-29 fly into view.
I also meant, wingtips. The MiG-29 does not have wingtip hardpoints.

If anything, it pans away from the aircraft before it homes into view.
I don't think there's anything suspicious about it. This isn't just an internet video that some experienced video editor has cobbled together. Somewhere out there, there's a destroyed Georgian UAV!

Outermost hardpoint on a MiG-35 (modernized MiG-29) comes quite close

In that video at 00:45 you see the wake turbulence hitting the exhaust smoke.

No.
I thought Russian rock engines would be smokeless even when it's burning. The AMRAAM is.
