I need some help troubleshooting a network issue that is pretty specific to one particular piece of flight sim payware software.  The developer is not able to figure this out so far.  I think both of us are at the end of our ropes on this one.

Please take a look here for the full docs on the situation:

http://cockpitsolutions.com/flyware/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=250&PN=1

I'd appreciate any troubleshooting help you might be able to offer.  Thanks.

best,

John I found this on a random forum for that runtime error:

Quote:
It's a WinSock error, I'm not all that sure why TCP/IP would do this, but you could try reinstalling it [Control Panel > Network Connections > Local Area Network Connection > Properties > TCP/IP).

seems like a logical next step, if you havent tried this already

Here is a WinSock reference

http://www.sockets.com/err_lst1.htm

here is an explination of the error:

Quote:
10047 - WSAEAFNOSUPPORT, Address family not supported by protocol family.
An address incompatible with the requested protocol was used. All sockets are created with an associated "address family" (i.e. AF_INET for Internet Protocols) and a generic protocol type (i.e. SOCK_STREAM). This error will be returned if an incorrect protocol is explicitly requested in the socket call, or if an address of the wrong family is used for a socket, e.g. in sendto.

masternerd,

I had found that exact explanation when searching on the web too.  Thanks anyway.

And I manages to "FIX" the issue.  Unconventionally.  See the linked thread again.

I am guessing it is a programming issue with the FSXpand code......since what I did fixed it.  Otherwise... ?????????

So I am a happy camper again.  FSXpand is a SLICK piece of simpit software.

Now with his new 5.6 version, people can really use the synoptic images I uploaded to his site.

THANKS again for trying to help out.

best,
