sounds like a driver problem / installation problem. Did you try a re-installation?

Also there's an update out to V.1.4

Cheers,
Fabian

The shot with the escaping crew is amazing. Can you do something to them?
I have SHIII which I love, mostly because of the scenario...I believe a submarine sim in WWII works the best in the battle of the atlantic. That´s why I won´t get SHIV, although it looks great.

Yep, I know what you mean. I'm also plying SH3 with the Grey Wolves extension. ~1,5 GB of download, but it's really worth the time. Do you know GWX2.0? The BEST freeware addon to SH3.

I bought SH4 because it was quote cheap und the graphics is awesome. Can't say too much about the storyline so far.

Cheers,
Fabian

Don't know about the crew...., a detroyer came in fast and I didn't have much time left.

I picked up SH4 a month or two ago also, Fabian. I've enjoyed it alittle bit here and there. It looks like it could a great subsim. Only problem for me is I can't quite grasp how to accurately fire the torpedoes. I've tried on realistic settings - that was put to a stop quickly though Smiley .

So, I tried dumbing the targetting to "easy" and I still can't get it my torps to hit more then 25% of the time Cheesy  Grin Cry

Nice shots by the way!

I can confirm that yes, one can do something to the crew provided there are no destroyers onroute to your position.

If not....

Order the crew to surface the sub, then man the flak gun yourself, as manning the gun with crew wont work, they dont fire at life boats.

Then get shooting, not nice to get shot at when all you have to throw back is the medals on ya shirt. I normally dont attack life boats, I let them live to tell the story  Wink

Just seen in the retailer GAME today that there is now a SH4 addon from Ubisoft featuring the German U-Boat campaign in the Indian Ocean. Looks good. Smiley

patch it to V1.4 there was some bugs in the earlier versions where the game engine was actually setting the torpedo's depth in meters instead of feet. Also early in the war american torpedos had unreliable depth keeping and often ran too 10 feet deeper than it was set this is built into the game even on easy Subsim..Alot like Simviation but for subs

I've patch to V1.4 actually. I'm finding my shots are either too far behind, or too far ahead of the target. So, I'm fairly certain the problem is actually me and not the sim Cheesy

Still am having issues with it though - yes, even on easy mode lol

I've given it a break recently though, been doing alot of flying in Falcon 4.0 and Falcon 4.0 AF.
