What is the more comfortable and useful car?

Austin Mini: 305 cm long, 140 cm wide, 135 cm high. 4 seats, 2 doors.

Tata Nano: 310 cm long, 150 cm wide, 160 cm high. 4 seats, 4 doors.

Tata Nano is higher, and this should allow more upright ands comfortable position. Overall roomier...

And the price is Rs 1 lakh. Only slightly over £1000.

So, what do you prefer - Tata Nano or Austin Mini?

The Mini ........ a good sound reliable vehicle (if you make sure that the grille is covered so as to protect the electrics during the winter). The Mini is surprisingly roomy and well built.... unlike the Nano who's build quality leaves a lot to be desired.

It will be the Mini because the Nano will not meet European emissions or crash standards. You will have to wait a minimum of 4 years before the next generation Nano will be targeted at the US and Europe according to Tata.

When are we due to discover whether the Nanos rust like the Minis?

Also note that Mini had, from 1976, the size to be a kei car - but never a small enough engine...
