grr is all I can say. I think Massa will eat the beemer for breakfast but if he cant get past him at the start it'll be a waste of the speed advantage they have.
Well done to Kubica though. great lap.

Nice to see Kubica on pole. Interesting quotes in Autosport this week - both Alonso and Hamilton reckon he's the best driver on the grid...

Ps. Do I get a point for predicting the polesitter... Wink Grin

Of course some championships would give a point to both the polesitter and the fastest lap... Wink

So, if Alonso is investigated and found guilty of lifting and "brake testing" Lewis from high telemetary...

...I'd hope he gets a lengthy sin-binning. Very little more dangerous that you can deliberately do.

Can't see it happening though - where's the next GP? Roll Eyes

Unlikely to happen. If the stewards do not decide to investigate it then the only way one could be started is by an official complaint from McLaren and they have said that at this time, they will not make one. Still I would like to see the telemetry data.

Certainly Ferrari's race. Nice to see Kubica and BMW doing so well though. They weren't a million miles away.

As for the incident (which had very little bearing on the result anyway), maybe it's time for the stewards to investigate all incidents (post race), and for an odd one such as todays investigate the telemetary. Then introduce a red and yellow card system for drivers. If it's bad enough for a red card then maybe a ban would be in order. Certain drivers have got away lightly with deliberate collisions (not saying todays most controversial was deliberate) in the past.

Alonso and Hamilton: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/66448

Make of it what you will.

I'd ilke to know why DC has no-one asking about his move. This is the third time in recent history that he's had someone run into him and not counting the belgium incident, I think its time someone sat him down and told him what those reflective bits of glass on the side of his car are for. It's sure as hell not for shaving that square jaw of his.

I dont think BMW were quite as close as they finished, Kimi backed off after the last pitstop at least 3/4's of a second + per lap while Kubica and heidfeld stayed on the pace. When Kimi was told he picked up the pace just enough to stay ahead still nothing special. But I cant complain if its not Ferrari at the top its beemer I want there until williams are on the pace.

Poor Renault then if the cars performance is that bad that it loses that much ground coming out of a corner! Grin

Quite. Mind you, if you ever listen to DC, he thinks he's made of teflon. Sadly I missed the incident as I'd got bored and was watching the rugger.

Agreed also. Sadly I fear too many independants have gone now, but the big manufacturers (ie Honda and Toyota, to an extent Renault) need to open their eyes and look to see how you win - with an independant constructor. Ferrari apart (but they have a 50+ year F1 racing pedigree), the most successful current manufacturer teams have an "independant" chassis constructor with decades of experience (ie McLaren and Sauber). For one I wish Toyota would just throw money at their engine developers and Williams.

I think renault has been one of the hardest hit teams by the lack of TC. Remember a few years back they had the best traction on the grid, the systems which controlled it all were considered the best especially on the starts. So they are right back to square one, ferrari also had trouble but while renaults system was focused on delivering the power in a smooth curve and basically giving you more traction in the lower end of the band, the ferrari's system was aimed at sacrificing low end low gear traction for the higher speed corner traction which is where they were super quick. Both teams have had to learn to adapt to their weakness. And something tells me ferrari have either found a way to deliver the power more smoothly throughout the band, or their drivers are a lot better at it than the renault drivers. Or Renault have not set their engine map up to give their drivers the right amount of power through out the rev range.

I'm loosing a bit of faith in Hamilton. Alonso business aside, he made the worst start of anyone on the grid. I do hope they investigate the incident though. As for DC, didn't he ask for his mirrors to be re-positioned after the Massa incident in OZ?

I enjoyed the race, I also agree that DC is causing involved in more than his fair share of incidents...

Massa was supreme today, as was Ferrari in general and BMW look to have caught McLaren up now, they may well end the season second to Ferrari.

Results up shortly

Why, because he has one bad race. He is lucky it has only been one considering this is his second season and the season has only just started.

Or Ferrari have found a loophole regardless of the standard ECU in the rules or in the way the management ECU works. All teams will have been working on the "problem" from day one of the introduction. Maybe Ferrari have found it and the rest are still playing catch up. Saying that Massa has still spun out a couple of times.

To be fair, a bad start. If it had been a normal start Alonso would have been several places behing him when he had the poor turn exit...

As for the start, you wonder if there was a technical snag of some description.
