I have installed 3 World -of-AI aircraft packages. They show up fine at my departing airport. But any major airport I fly to, that they also fly to, they are nowhere to be seen.. In fact, no AI aircraft are at the arriving airport.. What should I do to make them show up at the arriving airport??

Are you flying FS9 or FSX?

Common to both: Make sure your there at the right day and time. AI flight plans use GMT (UT) time, so to avoid the confusion of time zones and such, you should also when looking for AI. Make sure the airport has the proper sized parking. If it doesn't the AI will disappear before parking.

'.. In fact, no AI aircraft are at the arriving airport.. '

If your flying FSX: I believe the WoAI flightplans/traffic files are in FS9 format. They work in FSX but wll disable the FSX default AI (traffic file). There are utilities that will convert from FS9 to FSX format so you can have your default traffic also.  AIFPC (link in post#57) is one.

Dave

If you fly FS9 the FS2004 Traffic Toolbox SDK installs the 'Explorer' (available in flight) which is a great tool for tracking/trouble shooting AI traffic.

I've think I've seen mentioned that in FSX-Deluxe,  there is a 'traffic explorer'  as part of the SDK which provide a similar function. (I don't have FSX-Deluxe so can't verify this)

Dave:
I am flying FS9.. Does TrafficToolBox_SDK install in FS9?? Does it affect Frame rates?? I have my traffic slider set to 100%.. How do I change the time from GMT to EST on AI aircraft??

The Traffic Toollbox SDK installs a new menu (Tools) into the sim, available inflight. The 'Explorer' allows you to view the state and schedule of all AI in your area. There is also some other neat stuff you can do with an ai, like having an ai fly a saved 'flight plan' so it will fly point to point rather than direct to. Doesn't effect frame rates.

You can't change the time format of the ai flightplan (GMT/24hr clock).  You just have to make the adjustment to your time when 'looking' for an ai flight. Example: if you know the GMT arrival time at JFK, then you would set your time as GMT-5 (for EST) or simply set your time using the GMT 'box'. Using the 'Explorer' helps greatly in sorting this out.

Thanks, Dave.. I didn't know there was so much "behind the scene" activity going on in the Flight sim...

If you still have trouble, throw me the name of 1 or 2 of the packages your trying.

Though I haven't used any WoAI commercial packages before (I fly mostly GA props/bush) I did download the installer and one package and found that .bgl was faulty. In checking out a couple of flights I found the ai would depart ok, and would show up near the destination but never complete the arrival.

After compiling a new bgl with TTools (from the included source .txt files), everything worked fine.

Don't know if the problem was with the download, the zip or the original .bgl itself.

Dave,

If you can provide me with the name of the faulty bgl you found then I can investigate what's wrong.

Tom, thanks for your concern..

file: woamepv2.zip
Midwest Airlines Winter 2007
downloaded from Avsim

As I mentioned above: 'Don't know if the problem was with the download, the zip or the original .bgl itself.'

After further 'testing', it may have been a download/unzip problem. I re-downloaded from Avsim and things are going well with the re-installed .bgl.

Hi Dave,

Checked the bgl for this airline and it checked out ok on the arrivals and departures.
I've checked the timings for these arrivals and they all fall into the specs as provided by MS for AI traffic.
My estimate is that you might have hit a corrupted download indeed.

If you have any questions or other remarks you are also most welcome at www.world-of-ai.com
I don't visit the simviation forums daily  ( so many forums so little time  Wink )but at least one of the admins is daily present at world of ai

Kind regards,

Tom vd Horst

I've got about 170 WOAI airlines installed, and they all work perfectlly for me.  Smiley

Except for the fact that the lovely FS9 ATC vectors 6 aircraft onto an approach at the same time, so all but the first plane has to overshoot.  Grin Tongue

A big thanks to WOAI for their great packages!
