You guys may want to try to download and fly this aircraft. I downloaded and installed it and when I tried to load it into a flight, it gave me a "Fatal Error" message and crashed my sim! I checked to make sure I followed their installation instructions and I did. This is a flawed/useless aircraft as it is today.

Also, it features FS98 gauges that will NOT work in FSX. I will never understand why some guys insist on using FS98 gauges in FSX aircraft ... they render the aircraft useless to those of us who like to fly by our instruments.

Has anyone looked into this yet? I re-downloaded the aircraft and re-installed it and it STILL crashes my sim and gives me a "fatal error" message. It is a simple copy/paste install so I know I am not doing something wrong. This file really needs to be repaired or removed.

I've removed it & will test it later. I had loaded it for a test & it did not crsh my ststem. Since then it was re-uploaded to the site 'fixed' so the 2nd version may have a problem.
Apologies for any inconvenience.

Thanks Pete. I also wrote NorCal and they responded to me today and said that they would check the file and repair it if they find an issue (which they will). They were really nice about it. I don't mean to complain about files like this (this being the second file I have posted about in here) but I guess I was just the "lucky one" who discovered them both. To be honest, I really want the aircraft and was disappointed that it didn't work.

Thanks for your response!  Wink

Got an email from Ted at NorCal and he told me that he re-uploaded the file and that it should work now. Say's that he sometimes has this issue when uploading.

The members at nor-cal have tested and flown the L-29 with great success , exept for the only
VISTA
user , who seems to be having the problem with the glass. For now all that we have been able to do is come up with the "solution" to remove the glass for the vista user's
but dont give up I have made and sent a Fix to be tested by our sole vista user. This may take time seems how I personaly don't run vista
and am kinda shooting in the dark with the fix. From now on any file's
uploaded by Nor-cal will include " tested with Xp"
will post fix when it comes availible

Well then, there is definitely an "unidentified" issue that causes the aircraft to not work in my sim (and possibly others?). I AM NOT using Vista, my PC is running top-notch, my vid card is compatible, I have plenty of RAM, yada, yada, yada but THIS aircraft STILL will not load into my sim without completely crashing FSX. I have NEVER had this issue before with any other aircraft. Anyone have any thoughts on this issue?
Huh

Post Edit: I am more concerned with WHY I am having this issue than I am about the aircraft not working. I don't know why the a/c crashes my sim and I would like to know WHY. If it is an issue w/my computer then I want to know what it is and fix it!
