I got sent down to DUS to help out on an engine change last night. In the corner was this little beauty. One of only three air worthy examples I believe. Unfortunaely the pictures are not the best. The hanger is lit with sodium lights and the pictures suffered. As usual, taken with my cell/mobile/handy.

I'm in love...  Shocked I don't know what it is about DH-104s... I just love them. Smiley

She's looking very "cherry"... who owns that bird, and how much do they charge for rides? Grin

And hey- why no cockpit shot?
Locked, schmocked- you have tools, don't you?  Angry

Shame a few British airlines don't have the same...

...except, come to think, all the historic ones have been taken over, rebranded or worse...

Brittania, British Midland, Air UK, Dan-Air, BOAC, BEA...

How great would it be to have BA run a BEA Dakota or similar?

Having said that, I'd quite like to see a 747-400 in a BOAC scheme, just like the first 747-100s... Smiley

Although she lives in the LTU hanger and is in LTU colours, she is not owned by LTU, but by two or three ex-LTU pilots. The cost of a trip is in the region of about €200. Bearing in mind you can fly in the Lufthansa Junkers 52 for a little less, I find that a little steep.
Now for followers of airline news, when I asked when she was going to be painted in "classic" Air Berlin colours, all I got was some very raised eyebrows Grin
