I love winter also.
It's easier to make and find camoflauge that blends into the snow, and you can stay quieter when becasue of it absorbative qualities. it's the tracks you gotta worry about.

How do you like the Push Pull Zoom?
I've heard both sides, some people feel its "More Natural" and others cant stand it...

As for the Weight, Grab yourself a Backpack with a Chest Strap (across the front) and hang it right there...
(I'm currently looking into [waiting on $$$] the 100-400mm)
