I was awakened by the captain saying...
"Flight attendants prepare for landing".
I looked out the window and there was Philadelphia!
To my amazement we were landing in about 10 minutes!
Lower Manhattan with Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island to the left.
Midtown Manhattan.
LaGuardia top of screen.
Here you can see the new NY Mets baseball
stadium being built right next to the existing stadium.
There is LaGuardia. The approach from the South will bring you up over Manhattan
banking East over Long Island which brings you parallel with the runway. A big U-turn is required for landing!
U-Turn almost completed and there is the Throgs Neck Bridge top center
which connects Long Island to The Bronx.
Very windy approach but full flaps and we are on the ground!
And as always I will get a shot of the flight deck whenever flying.
Unfortuanately with my 2 little girls and gathering up everything, I forgot to remove my polarizing filter
and had my flash shut off! Those two things will leave you with the following shot after trying to clean it up. Sorry!
The MD 80 Flight Deck

I'd love to fly an MD80 one day, sadly the only airline that uses these from London is Scandinavian..and I've no plans to go to Sweden in the near future
Great pics Dave.
