Hey does someone knows why when starting in some airports like for example Schipol, when the flight starts you are all messed up with other planes that are not exactly in their corresponding gate, interfiering with your plane??? and besides this, I fly with the world travel airlines 747 and every time I arrive to an airport they send me to the general aviation ramp, What can i do for being instructed to park at a gate in every airports???

Thanks Greetings

What sim are you flying? Have you added additional AI aircraft/traffic? Have you installed an AFCAD file for Schiphol?

What sim(?) determines what tools you can use to remedy the problems. Additional AI(?) might be filling up your gates. An AFCAD(?) that does not fit the visible scenery (i.e. was designed for a specific  scenery that you don't have installed) will cause AC to park in odd places.

You can 'force' ATC to send you to a gate by adding a line or 2 to the aircraft.cfg. For the default (2004) 747 World Travel:

[fltsim.2]
title=xxBoeing 747-400 Paint2
sim=Boeing747-400
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=2
kb_checklists=Boeing747-400_check
kb_reference=Boeing747-400_ref
atc_id=N747I
atc_airline=World Travel
atc_flight_number=1123
atc_heavy=1
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type="747-400"
ui_variation="World Travel Airlines"
description="More than 30 years ago, the 747 made its first trip from New York to London.  Since then, it's become the standard by which other large passenger jets are judged. Its size, range, speed and capacity were then, and are now, the best in its class."
atc_parking_types=GATE <---- will send you to any 'available' gate provided it meets the requirements for the AC.
atc_parking_codes=WT  <---- will send you to specific 'assigned' gate that is configured in the 'parking properties' in AFCAD.

If you fly FS2004, AFCAD 2.21 can make the required mods for both the airport parking and aircraft (Tools>Aircraft Editor in AFCAD). More detailed explainations are available in AFCAD's help file.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.          Igor Sikorsky

You can try searching for it here or at www.avsim.com

Or you can use AFCAD to edit the airport your self it is not that hard to do then all you have to do is to add a line in the AI aircraft cfg's file Cool
The AFCAD help file has the codes you need for AI parking Cool

Jeremy,

To add to Gary's reply:

I didn't find any Afcad's for the default EHAM airport here at SimV. Goto AVsim, search the FS2004 Afcads category for file name 'eham_afcad2.zip'. It is for the default EHAM airport scenery and does a better job of aligning the AC to the gates. It also has 'atc_parking_codes=' assigned for real world ICAO airline codes. If your AI aircraft have matching codes they will park at the 'proper' gates rather than bunch up.

The 'WT' I used is just an example. You can use up to 4 characters (letters and/or numbers) for the code.
For real world airlines,  the 'official' ICAO code is normally used. That way sim aircraft designers and airport designers stay in 'sync'. As World Travel is ficticious, you can make up your own, or use one or more of those that are already assigned in the AFCAD.
