I'm new to add-ons so please excuse me if this has been asked a million times.

I was considering getting Ultimate Terrain X for FSX, but I was wondering if there were any other add-ons I should get along with it or a better choice for improving scenery?  Also, is there a correct order to install these add-ons if I choose to get more than one?

Thanks,

flyinjoe

Flight Environment X is the answer to your question. Wink

There is no particular order to install these addons, just get what you want.

So I should get Ultimate Terrain X and Flight Environment X because they do seperate things, correct?

Thanks for the reply.

Ultimate Terrain X deals with the land textures, mesh and all...Flight Environment X deals with weather, clouds, sky textures, and I'm assuming water textures because that is what Flight Environment 2004 did Wink Wink

Also, look at Ground Environment X, or if you're willing to wait, get flight Terrain X, both these take care of ground texture resolution (if I'm correct on GEX still not sure) and both also improve autogen performance and placement, but it looks like FTX will win in that department because they've completely abolished the use of XML autogen (which is framerate crazy  Wink)

If you have the money, get GEX for now, then get an FTX Master Pass (like I'm getting) to have full access to all scenery packs as they come out.

I can vouch for Ultimate Terrain USA X and Active Sky X/X Graphics Bundle. You can't use UTUSAX and X Graphics at the same time because they are two different terrain programs, but they are equally as nice and well worth the money. You can buy Active Sky X alone and use it in conjunction with either UTUSAX or X Graphics because it deals with weather, clouds and the such. DO NOT under ANY circumstance waste your money on FS Global X 2008. That's my 2 cents worth. Semper Fi, Dave
