I can't see how anyone who has even seen a picture of a real A330 or A340 can think that model is realistic!

The engines are FAR too small, and the nose is wrong, above the cockpit is mishapen in my opinion.
And the whole fuselage looks.... Fat?  Roll Eyes

Not for me, CLS wins this one  Cool

Maybe another day Wilco, maybe another day.

I agree but CLS doesn't have full FMC and Autopilot functionality and that's what I want.

Then you certainly should stay away from Wilco's....
I cant understand why peopele buy software from those clowns (This is not the same team that made the terrific 737PIC and ERJ/Legacy).

The external model is butt ugly too.

We must be talking about a different product because I have the Wilco Airbus Vol. 1 and think they look fantastic, with fully functional systems, and over 100 liveries to download for their A318/A319/A320/A321 as well. Can't comment on the Vol 2 though as I haven't got it.

Also I prefer a 'boxed' version with printed manuals, etc and CLS don't give you this (I don't think).

Ah well, each to their own opinion.

Can't wait for PDMG's 737NGX out next year though!

I have their vol1  aswell.
I also happen to be quite familiar with the real airbus.
The autoflight system is messed up. Whoever programmed that must've had very little time to finish it.

Also noticed they out little effort in the Vol2 panel. At a glance the twins and widebodies have the same flightdeck.
But this is not the case as evidenced by the "EXPEDITE" button on their Vol2 busses FCU's,
The EXPEDITE button is an A32X series function only and it allows the aircraft to either dive at VMO/MMO or climb at green dot speed.

The bigger busses do not have this button, since it takes so long time for them to accelerate from green dot to cruise speed. They have an ALT button there instead (instant level off).

Again I'm not really complaining about the lack of realism, I am complaining about their half assed effort and easy-way-out policy.

Engines look perfectly fine to me. Renember that's the -300 model not the -500 that has the UHB trents. Smiley Personally, I'll stick with my CLS.

The CFMs on the A340 are too big

The Engines on their A330 is too small

Regarding the autoflight system.
Right after thrust reduction, the FMA should read THR CLB, but instead reverts to SPEED
The speed should be on PITCH, not on THRUST. Now I don't know if it's simply the FMA showing the wrong mode or if the whole aircraft flies it wrong.
In order to activate Thrust Climb I have to punch the altitude knob on the FCU yet again.

The initial descent planning is okay, but as soon you modify the flightplan it goes wrong.
The aircraft is having problem in NAV mode to navigate to the proper fix. Sometimes the aircrafts flies to the contra-desired track, meaning it flies to the opposite direction.

I have yet to have a fully comleted flight without hickups.  Embarrassed

Well for some reason FeelThere has locked their Wilco A320PIC forum (then why is their 737PIC forum still open? That product is sold via Wilco Publishing aswell).
But there are several complains about the Thrust Climb-problem in their forum...

The exterior models are so wrong, I don't know where to begin. Like their 777, Wilcos Airbus vol 2 stands way too high, engines too small on 330 and too large on 340. It appears that they used the same A330 RR engines on the 343. To me this product is so disappointing I have uninstalled it! Too bad because I like their virtual cockpits. The V cabin is another story but I don't care about cabins since the aim of flight sim is to fly the plane.

Edit: Are their Wilco Fleet A320, Wilco Fleet CRJ and A400M also that bad?

I like their A320 because it has 95% systems functionality. Don't know if it looks 100% perfect but I'm not too bothered about that. The pilot doesn't look at the exterior that often!

I won't buy the CLS version of the A330/A340 because it doesn't have full FMC functions, even though the aircraft look so good.

Somebody point me at an Airbus payware addon that looks perfect and has ALL systems working then I'll buy it! Until then it's the best of what's available.
