Hello,

I downloaded the F14D Rev 3 package from Page 9 of the FSX Military section of this site along with the F15 Desert Camo and 494th Panthers from Page 8.  The F14 has engine burn and afterburner effects and these work.  The F14 is also suppose to have a blue burn light when the engine is on, this does not work.  Both of the F15's are suppose to have the same engine effects that the F14 does and nothing works.  I looked at the aircraft.cfg file for all three planes and everthing this for the effects (Burn1, Burn2, BurnerFlame, BlueFlame) are there.  The correct files were included with the F14D and I copied these into the effects folder and they are there, I double checked.  Can anyone tell me why the F14 does not burn a blue flame when the engines are on and can anyone tell me why both F15's have no engine effects at all even though the code is in the aircraft.cfg files under "Lights", which is in the same place as the F14.

As a note I have added Flight Environment X, Ultimate Terrain X USA and Ultimate Terrain X Canada, but I would not think that this would interfer with a aircraft.cfg file.

Regards,

Rod

Have you tried the F14 in high altitude? I've heard of some AC that switch their afterburner color with rising altitude...

Are the correct effect files all in the aircraft.cfg file?

Yes, all of the required files are in the effects folder.  It seems strange that on the F14 that the burn1, burn2 and afterburner effects are displayed it is just the blueflame effect that is not displayed.

The F15 uses the same effect files as the F14 and the F15 aircraft.cfg files has the same basic code for these effects as the F14 aircraft.cfg file, the F15 just does not display any effects at all.
