No, the birth of the "jet engine" can be considered the squid. Look at its "propulsion". And the first jet powered plane was the Coanda 1910.

It wasn't really very successful though, and wasn't a "jet" in the traditional gas turbine sense, deriving its initial power from a piston engine...

i remember this was a vailable for download in the FSX..... vintage... or props i think, italian flag on the tail not exactly my people's best design work, if lambourghini made a aircraft it would be the collest looking aircraft ever

look at the second photo look at its props and landing gear dosent it look like a Piper Cub surronded by a massive fiberglass body??
