A pal at work e-mailed this to me today asking what it was. Well it's not a Spitfire so I have no idea. It was seen over Nottingham at about 06:00 today.

I like the DA-42; it's probably one of my favorite twins out there.  I got a chance to fly the big, full cockpit Frasca sim of the DA-42 at Oshkosh this year, and it flew pretty nicely, not to mention that the G1000 in it was really nice as well.

Just what I was about to say. We have one based at the the airport I work at. Sounds very weird when power is applied and the takeoff role commences, most un-aircraft like. More like what I imagine it would sound like if Pavarotti tried to ride a 50cc Fizzy and once underway, gunned the throttle, giving you that noise of it really trying, but nothing much happening, except in the case of a Twin Star, a lot happens very nicely.

What a strange coincidence!

Until I stumbled upon this post, I'd forgotten that I saw one of these this morning, heading out of Filton.

I was driving along the M5 at the time and couldn't get a v.good look at it. I remember thinking, "What on earth is a Pucara doing up there!"

It's good to know the Argentinians haven't got their eye on Bristol
