Question???? Why do my aircraft in FSX jump up and down  on certain runways when setting idle and I have also noticed the baggage carts and other vehicles do the same thing.

Your FPS limit is set too high.
The display of the scene consumes too much CPU ressources, and the negative effects of this lack of ressources are appearing on the physical engine of the game. This happens typically to those who set the FPS limit to "unlimited".

You simply have to lower a little bit your FPS limit. Try 25, then 20, or 17 minimum. (Don't worry, even at 17, FSX remains quite smooth)

PS: the problem was already existing on FS9, same solution of course Smiley

XD My computer did that, my FPS was on 10, I bumped it down to 7 and it works fine, but it's a bit choppy

On FSX ?
Check if you didn't set a tweak that consumes too much ressources, like autogen density or something...
I just have a poor pentium IV 3,2 GHz, no multithread, no multicore, nothing modern, and my planes never jump.

Sounds like you have very excited happy planes,  crash one then fly it,  it should be ok.   Grin

I have tried mine at different settings, and i'm at a lost some times it does it, some times it don't. I could do a nice prefect run down the runway at Dallas in the RC-135E, but turn around and go to Charleston, and leav the plane sitting on the runway while I get ice cream and come back and find the nose on the runway.

What was your previous FPS limit, and what was the one you tested ?

The default setting is 20fps thats what it is set to run in and I moved it to 19fps and 18fps and it had the same results.

I'm running mine at 17 FPS, and I limited the autogen trees and buildings to 1000 per cells both.
Additionnaly my FFTF is set to 0.35 now, but I used to let it at 0.33.
Finally, my AI traffic is set to 50 %, no cars, 50% for the rest of the ground traffic, medium for the airport verhicules.
Also, my autogen slider is at max, but my scenery is usually on 'normal' or 'sparse'.
