It's a really nice shot there Spit! Only problem is compression seemed to ruin it..try cropping some of the unneeded stuff out..
Goodluck!

I don't see any problem with compression, there's just a lot of jaggies.

It's a beautiful aircraft...almost too beautiful though. You did a fine job, but I find the aircraft looks like a painted plastic model. No fault of yours, but maybe a bit of sky coloring through using dawn/dusk times might have masked that issue. As well, try to create a bit more intensity in the cloud formations. You'll find dawn/dusk will help with that as well. Nicely done overall though!

Thanks all!!
The jaggies are unavoidable in this shot - my system does not support anti aliasing, and the resample feature in irfanview was unable to get rid of all of them...
The reason I took the shot during the day was because I wanted the reflections on the aircraft..... but if you think dawn would have been better, I'll try that next time....

jaggies kill it, the clouds are to... well to white and they just blend into a sea of white.
im sick of the constelation, people keep going on about how awesome it is, but whenever shots are posted its the same bl00min livery!!!

John, want to do a head to head constellation pic challenge? Just me and you. Same basic sky as Spitfire Boys, no ground scenery at all, and any Connie you can find, the we put 'em up in a new thread and see what we've got...up for it?
Of course everyone else is free to submit a Connie/sky pic as well, just add them to our thread. So what say ye...up for some competition?
P.S. Spitfire Boy, I honestly think your sig is one of the nicest i've ever seen here at V....

Thanks!!
It was just slapped together in about 5mins....
John, as I mentioned, the jaggies I can't get rid of.... and the connie is because that was the subject for the competition... the rest of your advice I thank you for and will consider...

Spitfire boy, this is, as has been said already, probably one of your best - the colours work! The serenity of flying above the clouds in a sleek, beautiful aircraft create an atmosphere of peace, and the flowing lines of the aircraft don't add to any action - instead they keep the peace.
Again, the one and only problem is the jaggies, but I believe you've fulfilled your criteria for the shot (assuming you were after a peaceful cruise in the Connie?)

The overall first impression is fantastic! a very calm shot it is! Really gives you a sense of rest and relaxation.. so hats of to you in that area. The jaggie thing has been mentioned already so.. no comments on that.
Tw things I'd like to adress... on is the different coloring of the tail best section of the plane) vs the rest of the plane... might sound a bit nitpicky but it just looks different. ( maybe fault of the painter I dunno) and one small little tip. Find a bigger gap in the clouds... it adds height, depth and depending of the coloring of your ground... contrast
Still not a bad shot by far!

I can't really add anything - it's a fine shot and the jaggies don't really spoil it - you've got the clouds looking lovely and the plane looks very graceful

Thanks everybody!!
At the mo, there's absolutely nothing I can do about the jaggies - including getting a new graphics card - cause my PC is slimline and the darn thing simply wouldn't fit inside....
Thinking of getting a paper round in order to save up for a new PC - but that's nowhere near set in stone yet...
