Don't you get bored at the long period where you're just cruising at a high altitude for hours? I really want to do a flight from say, London to New York, but I'm worried I'll get bored after I settle at cruising altitude and quit or something.  Embarrassed

What do you guys do when you're in the middle of a long journey on FSX?

I did once but not in a 747. I did it in a Eurofighter with a virtual raf, escorting a VC10.

London to New York is nothing!

I did Los Angeles to Sydney!

Use simulation xspeed. 16x is the maximum with autopilot on!

I read magazines whilst flying long distance  Wink

Not that I fly too far, as I mostly fly props.

But it takes time to fly over the entire Greenland in a mooney.

My suggestion would be don't do the flight alone, if you can find someone to go on multiplayer with and share an aircraft, it makes things a lot easier and passes the time as you have someone to talk to. Also when you get bore, switch the control over and go take a break.

Save the flight and continue it later or just pretend you're a real pilot on a real trans-atlantic flight and do it non-stop like they have too  Wink

Hope all is well in your world today

Get airbourne set course and autopilot, go to sleep, get up and fly the remaining hour until landing. Well thats how i deal with it.

"Alt + Tab" Read some emails, write some emails, get some work done, post at SimV, take out the trash, let the cat out, take the dog for a walk, call your GF/BF, flip some switches that you don't know what they are for and watch FSX crash about 90% into your flight, curse and stomp your feet while reinstalling FSX because of the 1703 error then start your flight again. See lots to do on those long flights.  Grin Tongue
