Was that the year Coulthard and MSC got a little too close to each other? Who was it who ran into the back of who - I can't remember...? Huh

Schumacher ran into the back of Coulthard when DC decided to brake suddenly on the fastest part of the track while on the racing line. This was soon followed by Schumacher storming through the pitlane ready to end coulthard's exsistance. Cheesy

That'll teach him - on a wet road, drive more slowly and allow a greater distance between yourself and the car in front. Should've had his headlights on too... Tongue Wink Cheesy Grin

I'd be pissed too... I'd have passed Coulthard and then deliberately braked infront of him. See how he likes driving on 3 wheels... Grin (totally amazing pieces of technology if u ask me Cool)

Dont forget the fact he could have aquaplaned aswell, bet that wasn;t considered either. Roll Eyes Grin

Mouse, the plus side being at least coulthard was done too for the race.

A totally stupid accident that started my dislike for Coulthard, he was as you can see from the link some 8 seconds a lap slower than schumacher and should have moved over much sooner. Roll Eyes

The most expensive car accident ever I think.

David Coulthard ...... as described by his father to my ex father in law "He can go racing those cars ..... but I'll never let him behind the wheel of one of my trucks."

Hayton Coulthard is a haulage company owned by David Coulthard's father ...... hence the quote.

I think Ayrton Senna cost a lot of money, mostly in the aftermath in the courts... Huh

An incident packed race no doubt.. Damon Hill won it, Eddie Jordan's first win as a team owner but Ralf Schumacher, Damon's team mate was MUCH faster.. Eddie told them to hold position, much to Ralf's annoyance.

Who said team orders are a new thing Ron?  Grin  Wink

The telemetry said he did not lift off at all, but then again, can't have Schumy being at fault can we?

So your telling me some how DC's car suddenly was a lot slower than schumi's car in the space of a few hundred feet?
Not saying Schumacher didn't play his part he was way to close to him in the first place and it didn't make that much sense as to why he was behind him when off to the side would have been the better and more visable option.

Regardless of your take on the whole thing, the FIA release of the telemetry showed that DC did not lift off. As for his car suddenly being a lot slower in the space of a few hundred feet, we see that every race. All of a sudden a car is a fraction slower for no apparent reason and when the mechanics are asked, their answer is "bu##ered if we know, but it is all ok now", except in DC's and Schumy's case it very much was not.

DC moved over to let Schumi by as he was a lap down. He moved off line and in the spray MS didn't see him.
As for slowing down, ever driven through a deep puddle at speed? It slows you down considerably.  Tongue
