For traffic BGL's?  Yes.

For scenery...I do believe so.

Is it really nessesary to convert traffic fs9 bgl's to traffic fsx bgl's? Dont understand why, in that I have fs9 traffic bgls' installed into the fsx without the converter and they seem work perfectly fine.

Ok. Most of fs9 bgl's will work in fsx, however without the fsx converter some of the ai planes will not be able land properly due to some of fsx airport coordinate changes.  So, for some of the fs9 bgl's you need the converter and for others you do not.  So I guess that the best procedure would be to use the traffic converter for every fs9 traffic bgl's.

You can use FS9 traffic BGL's "as is", however your FSX default traffic will be disabled
and you'll lose your FSX ship traffic as well.

If you convert the FS9 BGL's to the FSX format then they will coexist with the default
FSX traffic BGL's.

Also, the FS9 'day of the week' coding is different than FSX so your AI traffic will
be flying on the wrong days, if that matters to you. The conversion utility corrects
this issue as well as checking for the few airports that have changed ID's or been
removed in FSX.
