in fact, i don't think there is any civilian traffic when i play.  I have WOAI loaded, and commercial traffic up high, and civi traffic is about 80 percent....shouldn't I see SOME civi traffic?

You should see some but you have to rember it depends upon where you are at try looking around some of the major hubs like KATL;KDFW;KSEA

You might want to check to make sure your default traffic file is still active some AI installers might deactivate it or even delete it. It should be in your SCENERY/WORLD/SCENERY folder look toward the bottom of the file. The name of the file is A30820TRAFFIC.bgl or something like that. If you find that it is been deleted you can find it on disk one of the cds.Just rember to unzip the file into a folder outside of fs Cool

In the process of installing your new ai did you move or disable the default traffic file to remove the default commercial traffic?

Look in the ...\Scenery\World\scenery\.. folder for 'traffic030528.bgl'. This is the default traffic file. If it is missing or disabled this removes the default civilian traffic as well.

There are ways to restore this file to get your civilian traffic back while still disableing the commercial traffic.  If you need help with this, I'll  outline a couple of options.

It's been awhile but the last time I checked, WOAI was still using FS9 format
traffic BGL files. Unless thay have changed something to provide fully
compatible FSX traffic BGL's then adding a non-FSX BGL will eliminate
the default FSX traffic. This MAY be the cause of your not having any
general aviation AI.

I have the same problem as Pappy44 - no AI in FSX.   I have both FS9 and FSX and I mistakenly installed one of MAIW's packages (which I really like) in FSX.  I checked my FSX files and I don't have the default traffic030523.bgl file in my scenery/world/scenery folder.  Do I need a special uninstaller?  Or, would my problem be solved if I just copy the default file from FS9 into FSX (and delete the MAIW FS9 files that are likely causing the problem)?

Thanks!

ANY FS9 traffic BGL installed in FSX will cause the default FSX AI to go missing in the
areas where they overlap or have common routes or something of that nature.

There are some utlities available that will CONVERT FS9 BGL's to FSX format
and that will resolve the problems.

I suggest you search the Avsim forums or go to fsdeveloper.com/forum/ and
look for the various tools\utilities available there.

For which game do you want here I thought you were talking about FS9 if so I am reasonable sure the default scenery is on disk two.
If you are looking for FSX ai I do not know where it is at when I looked at the files on the install disks of FSX they are completly differnet from FS9 and I am not quite sure what file is what because of the format of the files. Cool

Sorry I can not help you like I said the files on the FSX install disks are done differently than those that are on the FS9 disks. I am not sure how you can access them It might not even be possible Cool
