Still working on tarting up my raw install of FS9 on the new computer, and thought I'd successfully moved an used the AS installer from the old rig... but there's a problem: AS Graphics won't run. Installed the v. 6.5 update to the new machine, and still no joy. Every function of AS works except the graphics part (so I can't access the various themes, etc.).
Anybody have any thoughts?

You need to check out the installer if you moved it from a different system some of the parameters might be wrong. I have the cd so I would not have this problem.

Yeah, I should've got the disc. Roll Eyes
It looks OK; everything seems to be there.
It is very odd... if the copied installer is in fact corrupted or whatever I would figure that the downloaded 6.5 update would not have worked with it... ???

About the only other thing I can think of is to check with HIFI at www.hifisim.com

Try this

It might not fix the problem but it's worth a shot, and often is the solution to problems with addon programmes.

Wow... turns out it was MS net1.1... thought that got installed, and the fact that AS6.5 worked at all convinced me further that all was OK.
As it turns out, the program will open but AS Graphics will not initialize unless you have the correct Net framework installed.

Thats Odd, I'm sure when I installed AS after a PC crash it prompted me to install NetFramework 1.1, and included the redistributable file?

Glad you've sorted your problem  Wink

New problem: after first flight with AS6.5 running fine, it would not connect with FS after that, unless I first imported a flight plan. but not always. Very weird.
Did some research elsewhere, and somebody mentioned FSUIPC... seems sometimes you cannot use a registered version (which I have). Deleted the key to "un-register" it, and now it connects.
that's terrific, but unfortunately I plan to use FSUIPC with the Hagstrom boards in my (still not finished) simpit, and of course the required programming functions don't work in an unregistered version of FSUIPC...
Is it me, or is AS a waste of money?      Huh  Sad

AS is DEFINATLY not a waste of money  Cool

You seem to be having a run of bad luck. I have a registered version of FSUIPC and have no problems with it communicating with FS.  Huh
