Well, I'm sorry but I must post yet another thread about a problem I am having with FSX..... I apologize right up front...

I was loading a multi player session, nothing seemed to be wrong, Settings around medium high except for traffic which was zeroed. Then about 50% into loading the session I got the most hated error message in windows. "FSX has encoutered a problem and must be closed" I just thought that maybe my pc couldn't handle the settings I had so I lowered everything to about Low and rejoined the session. Same thing... Now I got concerned. This problem only happens in multiplayer and not in free flight or missions. I think it may be my new Avast! anti-virus software, but I want to be sure before I start playing around in its settings. This was the first time I have tried to play multi player since I installed SP1. Anyone have this after SP1? My pc specs are as follows.

Dell 4400
1.65ghz stock (not overclocked)
1gb RAM
ATI All-In-Wonder 256(?)

ARG!!! This thing is so annoying! I hate my pc!  ... ......

Good suggestion ....... and bypass any firewalls / routers , try again, see if your error occours. If not then add back in your firewall ...... try again etc ......

I have the same problem, and I dont think its a virus program. I may be wrong but I don't run any, and Ive gotten the error.  I did a reinstall and it helped a bit, but I'm still getting them every so often.

I get this problem too but it is only with some addon aircraft and it happens at 86%.  I get the message "cannot connect to the host aircraft...."  I can start my own session with any thing but can only load into sessions already running with a few...  Sad
