Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with cfs3 on windows vista? I installed it on my new vista machine and it keeps crashing to the desktop or just freezing up and then I have to use task manager to shut it down. I have installed it 3 times and it seems to be a little better as I was able to start a campaign and fly one mission before it froze up. I would appreciate any help on this. 2004 and fsx are working fine.
Thanks
Joe

I fly CFS3 on vista, without much problems. Sometimes I get random crashes that i cant explain, and only a system reboot will get CFS3 to load up again, but I remember having these sort of issues on both my old windows 2000 desktop, and my windows XP laptop.

Are you using plain old CFS, or the 3.1 patch?

I'm using 3.1  I found this from microsoft, I don't think it would make a good permanent answer but it does work. I flew for a couple if hrs yesterday with no problems.

Click Start, type System Configuration in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
2. Click the General tab, and then click Selective Startup.
3. Click to clear the Load system services check box and the Load startup items check box.
4. Click to select the Load system services check box.
5. Click OK, and then click Restart.

Then I found this. but I haven't had time to test it out yet. (Right click on CFS3 desktop icon and select compatability tab, then select, run this program in compatability mode for: windows xp service pack 2.) that may be a more realistic fix if it works. I will try it later today when I have a chance.

Ok I tried the compatability fix and it did not work, I couldn't even fly one mission.
