Hey everyone,

As usual, I have another question for the master aircraft designers.

I am trying to get the skinned animations working on my model. The part is related to the control stick so it shouldn’t be too difficult. I have created bones, animated and tagged them with the appropriate animation tag. I have created the mesh and added a skin modifier and the animation works great in Gmax. I also gave the mesh a texture making sure that I check marked the skinned mesh box in the material editor. When I export, I also select export skin. After all this, it still will not work in the sim. Yes, I do have advanced animations turned on in and I know that the wing flex does work on the default aircraft.

Am I missing something?

Thanks for the help,
Jon

Did you animate the bones with the I-K Solver?  Did you create and edit the envelopes?

I am not sure about the IK Solver, do I need one? As for the envelops, I have set them up and the animation, bones, mesh and all, works in gmax.

Two more questions...

Did you add a "Skin" modifier to your mesh, and then "add the bones list" to the mesh?

If you've checked the Envelopes, then I suppose you have added the "Skin" modifier, but it never hurts to ask... Wink

Is your mesh object "closed?" Meaning, is does the object have manifold geometry?  That is, no open edges?

Yes I did add a skin modifier to the mesh and no it is not closed, it is like a tube with one end being open with open edges. (I can post a screenshot if that would help)
