Thunder in the Valley 2007

23rd June 2007, Wast Water, UK

General Info

  • Will be on the Simviation server ->  85.10.244.109, http://cockpit.netfrag.org:8090/
  • Will be on Saturday, 23rd of June at 5:00pm GMT, please be on the server by 4:50pm.
  • For this airshow (i don't usually) i will allow you to overfly the crowd, but please do it only once or twice... not for the whole display.

Location

  • The show will be held over Wast Water, in the English Lake District. You could fly in from EGNL if you want to but i would recommend saving a flight on approach to the lake. See map below:
...

...

...

The red is the spectator area, the blue is the display area.
...

...

Post your aircraft

  • I need you to post your aircraft (with link) here. I also need to know whether the BBMF or HMJG will be flying. Does anyone want to fly a simulated dogfight (ww1 or ww2) with me (and others)? Btw, i am flying the DeHavilland Sea Vixen and Avro Arrow.

Files you NEED

  • This Scenery
You need to disable any other scenery for the lake district otherwise you will just see planes flying through hills.
  • FS Recorder
Rather than filming on the day, please could everyone record their display with the recorder module. If you want smoke to show make sure you have it enabled in 'settings'.
  • The spectator aircraft, the paper plane.
You MUST use this aircraft to watch!
  • You may also want teamspeak.

Thats all, Have fun!  Wink

PLEASE LOOK OUT FOR POSTS IN RED DOWN THE PAGE AS THEY MAY BE IMPORTANT UPDATES.

Forgive me, but can we use the paper plane as the spectator aircraft instead? The dude isn't great for FPS and it has a engine, and i hate flying a display watching "TURN THAT ENGINE OFF" personally...

OK...

I will be doing a VTOL performance in the UKMIL Sea Harrier (I use the FSX version, but the FS9 is the closest you will get if you dont have FSX).

And I will be doing a STOL perfomance in an RAAF C-17 package from Mike Stone/GJSmith.

If no one else wants to fly in a WWII/I performance, I have quite a few Hawker Hurricanes to fly for a WWII display. They are from Airplane Heaven. We could do a simulated dogfight first (with possibly, a BF-109?) and then a form-flight of peace. Smiley

I'll be in the Su-30MK, found here (exported package).

Sorry about the large filesize, but I've been unable to find another Su-30.

I wasn't able to do this plane at a previous airshow (Everyone left halfway through!  Angry ), so I'll be flying the same one- http://www.simviation.com/members/fs2004military74.htm The BAe Hawk T Mk 1. It's a nice, tiny jet, and very manouverable. (spelling?)

EDIT: First post here in a LOOOOOONG time! Nope, I'm not dead....yet!  Shocked

How ironic.

I'm hosting the FSGV race on the same day but on a later hour. So, once you guys are done with the airshow, why don't you all drop by and watch the race with me?

By the way, I might drop by and see the airshow with my humvee [keep an eye out on the cliff]. Grin

List is looking really good! Can everyone check that the scenery looks like this: ...

You must read the readme and follow the steps very carefully!

I need you to confirm whether the SimVBBMF will be flying and also if the refuelling demo is going ahead. Would the HMJG be interested in flying? It would be an unprepared display but it could be fun...  Smiley

I might not make it on Saturday due to a smaller event going on I'd forgotten. There's every chance I won't bother but I just thought you'd like to know why I don't turn up in that event.

If An-225 still wishes to do this then it will be. About the scenery, it appears to be working correctly apart from odd times when it crashes my sim. No crashes occur when I de-activate the scenery from the library. Is there a fix available anywhere?

It looks like it isn't the scenery that causes the problem, now it's crashing with just default scenery. I spoke too soon.  Roll Eyes
