Hi all.  A FreeFD "tip" here:

While flying from KBOS to KJFK last night in my simpit, I was looking at part of my aircraft's "library" of black three ring binders.  In it is a binder for the FreeFD gauges.  I noticed when looking in it that I had saved some copies of threads from the old forum sections ( this one started October 27, 2003).

In one thread titled "The Mouse In The Glass Cockpit" it mentions the problem of the mouse cursor coming up in the center of the FreeFD gauge screen when the machine is set up to autorun WideFS and then the FreeFD gauges.  And that with the mouse pointer located ON the gauge that the gauge data transfer performance suffers (interesting!).

Don Lafontaine answered the questions........ and by October 30th had added a function to get rid of the mouse pointer if it is locatd OVER one of the gauges.  It is to hit the period key, which also saves the status of that action in the gauge config file so that on the next start it "remembers" the situation.  It was included in the Oct. 30th update on the site.

This is not in the FreeFD docs.

best,

.......................john
