I don't understand the problem. You want to be able to make an airport in the same style your first pic shows? Huh


If so, the only thing you can do is to read the very well done AFCAD instructions and practice, practice, practice, practice.


Nothing but practice will teach you how to use the various options, materials and tools of the program.

Well, not trying to be negative here, but your airport is poorly set up Undecided.  You need to have definite areas for parking.  Put in some aprons and concentrate the parking there, not in lots of random places.  Once you do this, you can even have some wild designs that work.

The way I build an airport is I start with the main runway.  Once that's in place, I put in some aprons where the parking with be.  Then I add the parking spots and connect it all with taxiways (make sure you use all three kinds of taxiways - normal, runway, and apron).  That should help the airport develop better.
