Any comments? Critcism welcomed; I'm trying to learn  Smiley
I'm doing something else with the Junglecat right now, that's why I used it... could have used a Thud or something, I know...

...

Thanks to Locke for the plane!

If you were trying to acheive that 50's alien invasion film look, then it's you who should do the teaching... Brilliant. Why don't you fill us in on your technique to acheive this aged flim look K?  Smiley

Cheers Clip... pretty simple really (twirls moustache, arches eyebrow)...

Used an old 'Nam photo from the 'net and transferred Locke's nutty Junglecat onto it. Locked the plane layer, motion blurred it just a little then painted over it using colour sampled from the sky and other background areas as paint with low opacity. Dodged and burned the plane and a copied background layer, then stuck the three layers together and added a bit of grain.

Does it look like the plane actually fits in the shot, or does it  look stuck on?

kaboom
not a bad effort although i think the aircraft needs to be more pixelised or distorted

Not bad, Krigl, but the aircraft still looks stuck on to be honest. It needs more contrast and it's too sharp, so it also needs more grain. Try adding some 'enlargement grain' to the ship.

Thanks CSM and Sytse! Very useful to hear - when something doesn't look quite right, but you don't know why, it's good to get advice. Where can I find 'enlargement grain' ?

Thanks Sytse! You're very kind! I'll give it a go shortly...

Okay, here it is - you have a newer version of  PS than me, (I'm using PS7) and I can't find the
options you mentioned. But I tried adding more fuzz and contrast anyway.... is it an improvement?

Thanks, Krigl

That's amazing! Maybe just a little gaussian blur on the ship and the pic could be a bt lighter.

How's this? Mild gaussian, a gradient and lighter... I can't make it look any better... Embarrassed

Sytse, I've just done some composites using your tutorial, and I'm pretty pleased with them. I'm no Banana Bob, but my edits have improved no end. Thanks a lot  for your time, patience and expertise!

Er... yes, you're right. Well, I did a gradient, so the sky's lighter and,  er, the grounds, like, well,  Embarrassed

Well, anyway, I've learned quite a bit from doing this and I like the result  Smiley

Cheers for the commentary, new composites on the way!
