Thanks guys,

Yes, the Mk-10 is an executive jet. ATG also makes the Mk-20 which is a military trainer version. The hard part about this aircraft is that there are so many different configurations of it because it is still being developed. For example, I have found pictures of a least three different styles of canopy and landing gear. I will probably lean more towards the executive jet but it will be easy to pant it in military colors.

Great picture fighter25!! Shocked Thanks a lot!! Send me a PM with your email and I will put you on the list of test pilots. Wink

It is very interesting that the stick is in the center. In this video (link below) it is on the right side. I guess there is only one way to decide…..feel free to vote which way you would like it!!!

Thanks everyone,

I am still working on the exterior details and then I will move inside to the VC, so just give me a little time. If you do not hear form me for a week or two, don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about it. Wink There is a lot that I still need to do before it makes sense to start testing it.

As far as the HUD goes, I might include one if I get around to learning how to build gauges. Tongue  As for the rest of the gauges, I am planning on just using the default Learjet MFD and PFD.

Thanks for the support and I will be back shortly. Cool

Yep, that would be the problem. Undecided Undecided Cry I am planning on doing it for FS9 eventually but I thought that I would finish modeling it and then make the changeover. Sorry, I must not have specified which sim I was making it for. I will let you know when I start working on it for fs9 if you are still interested.

Well it is progressing, but slowly because I have not had a lot of time to work on it. Most of what I have been working on is the VC.

...

Does anyone know how to remove the black background from the HUD gauge? I think it is something in the panel cfg but I have not figured it out yet.

Cheers,
Jon

I don't know how it works in FSX but I THINK that there is an entry in the panel.cfg that you can change so that there is no background.bmp.  Or I think if you add a black background bitmap it will be transparent because black translates into transparency (when you make a panel the windows are black).

Hey Jake,

There are two ways to change the background color in the VC section of the panel cfg and I have tried making them both pure black and while this works on the 2D panel it does not appear to be the case with the VC. My speculation is that the gauge is designed for FS9 and that there must be something different with FSX.

Cheers,
Jon

For gauge color, Is this a xml gauge, if so open the gauge folder and re-paint the template exact black=0,0,0 that will make it transparent etc.

No, it is not a XML gauge. Cry I think I need to look for a different HUD, or learn XML and build my own Tongue

I'll look when I get home, but one thing you could try is to see how others have done HUDs in VCs especially if there are any for FSX.  My FSX isn't working, I need to uninstall and reinstall and I haven't had the time yet.

If you know of an aircraft that has a HUD that works in the VC it would help. All the aircraft that I have currently that have HUDs, only work in the 2D and not the VC. An example is Kirk Olsson’s F16, the HUD works in the 2D but not the VC and in the cfg they are two different gauges.

I'll look into it.  I know of some that have the HUD in the VC in FS9 (all the DSB jets) but I don't look at addons for FSX so I'll have to look around

The IRIS Simulations YF-22 has a HUD that works in the VC in FSX.

Great, thanks for the tip. I will check that out. Cool

Cheers,
Jon

To Johmich: Not sure if you found or made a VC-HUD yet, I just finished modifying a 747-400 PFD (default FS9) for a pet project, and it works in FS9 & FSX. If it might be of interest to you please feel free to drop me a line.

p.s. - Your plane looks fantastic.

Hey everyone,

Here are some updated pictures of the project. It is still going slow and I don’t see it speeding up any time soon. Sorry I have not kept everyone updated; I have not given up but I still don’t know when it will be done...... now if I could only get those light maps to work.....

WOWZERS!  That seriously looks great!  With some better textures especially in the VC, EASILY payware quality.

Now that FSX works for me, do you think you could email me the latest beta?  I want to finally test this sexy jet to its full potential.

Once you have finished it for FSX...how hard it it to "convert' to FS9, because I'd be really sad if I missed out on this awesome looking (and i assume flying) aircraft.

I plan on compiling an fs9 version eventually. It will be a little bit of work because the gauges, materials, and animations are all just a little bit different for fs9.

No worries guys, I am getting an update together right now. Wink Thanks for being patient with my slow progress.

I apologize that I have not kept everyone up to date on how the project is going. I have had very little time to put into the project recently do to life in the “real world”. As some of you know, life in the “real world” has a tendency to throw a few curves now and then. But, I have not gotten discouraged and I have every intention of finishing it even if it takes longer then I had hoped.

Cheers,
Jon

So ummm...what's happening with ye ol' Javelin?

I know that the sim will be much cheaper than the real thing...

Buying one is almost achievable though if you're already a pilot which I'm trying to be Smiley

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. The Javelin project has not been scraped and I still plan on finishing it. Due to real life taking all of my time, the project has been placed on the back burner. I expect that after school gets settled down and winter rolls in I will have more time trapped indoors and I will get back at it in full force.

Hey everyone,

I am sorry to say that there has been no progress on the Javelin. Cry Things in the real world have been taking all of my time. I have not even started the sim to fly in a long time and I am thinking about uninstalling it because I need the space. Tongue Therefore, I am thinking about offering the project up for adoption. I appreciate the enthusiastic help and support from everyone so far.  Smiley

damn thats no good i only realized this plane was being created Sad

Whoever Adopts it i think could use the Iris T-6 Guages instead because it would look much more closer to the "real Deal"

Sorry to hear the sad news JonMich

Also, I won't mind doing some flight testing, I'm due for a week of the real deal at the end of next year or the beginning of the year after.
(Albeit in the back looking at a computer screen...  Embarrassed)
Can't wait. Smiley

For info and pictures of the Javelin (and the cockpit) go to the ATG (Aviation Tech Group) website at http://www.avtechgroup.com/

Hey everyone,

Sorry I have not replied sooner than this. I have recently decided to uninstall FSX because my computer can’t (and really never could) take the pressure of FSX. Therefore, I have put Javelin project on hold indefinitely. Due to real life circumstances, I can’t afford to by a new computer (as much as I would really like to) and upgrading this one is not an option. So I thank you all for the enthusiastic support and I hope to some day in the near future to get a faster computer so that I can install FSX once again.

Cheers,
Jon
